Chateau Ausone's 2015 vintage has echoes of 2009, with tannins that are "very soft and silky," according to Pauline Vauthier.

 

"It's similar to 2009" in terms of the tannins, she said at a tasting at the estate in Saint Emilion Friday.

 

The average age of the vines is 50 years and the yield was 30 hectoliters a hectare, according to Ausone data. The blend was 50 percent cabernet franc and 50 percent merlot.
