Perenchio New York Auction Fetches $5.2 Million, Taking Sale Total to $12 Million

The second part of Sotheby's auction of wines from the cellar of the late entertainment mogul Jerry Perenchio fetched $5.2 million in New York this month, taking the total for the two-part sale to $12 million.

A 12-bottle lot of Clos de la Roche, Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 1985 Domaine Ponsot Burgundy sold for $123,000 including buyer's premium, well above its presale high estimate of $48,000, according to an e-mailed statement from Sotheby's.

Twelve bottles of Richebourg 1985 Meo-Camuzet sole for $116,850 while a six-liter imperial of Chateau Latour 1961 fetched the same amount.

A 12-bottle lot of Montrachet 1986 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, 10 bottles of the same producer's 1990 vintage and 12 bottles of La Tache 1978 DRC all sold for $86,100, according to Sotheby's.

An 11-bottle lot of La Tache 1966 DRC fetched $79,950 while three bottles of Richebourg 1985 Henri Jayer sold for $73,800.
