Lafite Stands Out as 2010 Bordeaux Vintage Dominates Liv-ex Trading

September 11, 2016

Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2010 was the most traded individual wine on the London-based Liv-ex market last month as the four standout Bordeaux vintages since the start of this century dominated deals, according to the latest Cellar Watch market report from the exchange.

The 2010 vintage by itself accounted for 17.5% of Liv-ex Bordeaux trading in August, with 2005 accounting for another 10.1%, 2009 8.6% and 2000 8.4%, according to the report. Buyers were partly encouraged by sterling weakness, which made wines in London more attractive to purchasers in the U.S. and euro area.
